A new premium storefront for Cheshire & Wain

This Shopify store specialises in premium cat collars and accessories, blending thoughtful design with a focus on quality. The brand was going through a new rebrand, aiming to elevate its look and feel to better connect with its audience and reflect the premium nature of their products.

I was brought in to develop a custom Shopify theme based on designs by Arron Taylor-Peter, collaborating closely to make sure the build aligned with the new visual direction. The goal was to not only refresh the site’s style but also improve functionality and create a more seamless shopping experience.

Key updates included building new shop pages that make browsing more intuitive, and refining the personalisation feature for collars, making it easier for customers to customise their purchase. This work involved handling Shopify’s line item properties in a way that grouped personalised add-ons with main products, simplifying both the buying journey and the backend process.

We also set out to resolve ongoing technical issues the previous theme had with custom code injections being overwritten during updates. By building a fully custom theme, we avoided these conflicts, ensuring stability and allowing us to manage and apply updates as needed without breaking functionality.

The result is a sleek, premium storefront that reflects the brand’s identity and provides a smooth, engaging experience for cat lovers and their companions alike.
